Derrick is a multimedia storyteller and is a southern griot who is interested in telling great stories. As a historian, telling nonfiction stories is part of the job but telling nonfiction stories within documentary expressions allows for more creativity. Here is an example of his journalism graduate work telling the story of hunger in Memphis and Mid-South.
